About Artist Robert Taylor
Robert Taylor currently resides in Bethlehem. He has numerous works in private collections, but has had exhibits in Bethlehem House Gallery on Main Street, Apollo, Wooden Match, Bayou and Dime.
He creates Art that captures a sliver of his subject's soul to preserve it for future generations. A reverence that is deeply reflective if not a channeling of the very energy of his subject matter. Portraits encapsulating the essence ranging from Pete Townshend to Bob Marley to Kurt Cobain to Coltrane to Peter Gabriel.
He states his primary influences are: Andy Warhol, Wayne Thiebaud, Edward Hopper and Chuck Close. Citing illustrative technique, use of non-local color and graphic approach to composition as noted reasons.
Also within the exposition on display, will be several series of still lifes capturing the dance of vibrancy of color and the mastery of shadow.
